Hello
05:58
|
|||
Please say "Hi" to those you know
and say "Hello" to those you don't
give a nod, a smile, or wave
or take a minute to say "Hey"
The other day I saw a friend
from way back when when we would spend
all our time down at the park
so many ventures we embarked
But we grew old, we grew apart
we both got jobs and sold our hearts
I would have stopped to say hello
but I was late, I had to go
Yesterday I heard the news
someone was hangin' with a noose
they said he lived a happy life
he had a kid, he had a wife
It took a while to settle in
that this hangman was that friend
so please say "Hi" to those you know
and say "Hello" to those you don't.

A Poem
04:17
|
|||
Here's a song about when I tried to write a poem
in someone else's home
I had no paper and no pen so I wrote
On the mirror with a tube of tooth soap
about a seed searchin' for a place to grow
he found a garden but her grass was too cold it was too cold
I broke that mirror and I got a cut
so I wrote another poem with my blood
on the floor of linoleum
about a boy who used to sleep beneath the sun
This boy grew up and went on to do great things
he even bought some girl a ring
and they grew old like waiting for ... spring
Then I cleaned up and crawled back to her bed
as I laid there a poem swam to my head
about a captain on a ship filled with lead filled with lead
When this captain tried to leave he
got anchored down by the weight on his sleeve
he said farewell to the waving trees
then settled down off the shore beneath the sea
I stumbled outside and fell upon the lawn
with nothing to write on
she stormed out and she asked what was wrong
I proclaimed that I's trying to write a poem
she shook her head and she said "It's time to go"
so I got up and went to find my way back home my way back home
Then I found along the way
a broken pen and a paper mache
of a cat that somebody made
it was out on the street was it lost or thrown away?
I sat down and I tried to write a poem
but nothing seemed to rhyme
so there I was searchin' for a place to grow a place to grow.

Silhouettes
03:59
|
|||
Everyone's a ghost these days
flying through the outer space
dancin' with the microwaves
shinnin' like a solar ray
Back to Earth with no delay
their physical(s?) evaporate
memories pixelate
and you can see it all on your front page
When we die we'll leave only silhouettes
lonely silhouettes
we'll leave only silhouettes on the net when we die
Everyone's insane today
their brains got up and walked away
left their heads' an empty space
sayin' "We don't need you anyways"
Now everyone's in disarray
when their phones' are MIA
what's the purpose anyways
we're all sprinklers crying in the rain
When we die we'll leave only silhouettes
lonely silhouettes
we'll leave only silhouettes on the net when we die
When we die we'll leave only silhouettes
lonely silhouettes
we'll leave only silhouettes on the net when we die
When we die
When we die
When we die
When we die
Everyone's a ghost these days
flying through the outer space
dancin' with the microwaves
shinnin' like a solar ray.

Luck in Disguise
03:29
|
|||
Look at the time it's getting late
don't say you made a bed 'cause I can't stay
today I found the message in my hands
I get it now I understand
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
I'd hear you but I speak too loud
around your corner there are brighter sounds
I's bound to up and leave without a plan
I'll write ya darlin' when I can
Now it seems every other day
is the same since I went away
lookin' down from my window blinds
have I lost what I've been trying to find?
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Take my hand please now fly with me
to see the wonders of the seven seas
we'll flea and write our farewells in the sand
then send some postcards to our friends
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
But the memories are fantasies
in dreams and it's hard to live when I can't breathe
I need to see the world but I can't stand
to see you with some other man
Now I wish there was another way
to mourn each day as they pass away
I see you when I close my eyes
how'd I miss all that luck in disguise?

Life on Lease
03:31
|
|||
Mother said he'd go real far
look at him now he's got a car
it's not brand new it's not paid off
it drives him safely to his job
Where he waits tables serving food
to pay the bank that paid for school
that he went to to get a sheet
that's got his name and a degree on it
It's in a frame on the wall
of his empty bedroom now
near downtown in the basement
of somebody's apartment
With a roommate that's got no job
she watches TV all day long
and never cleans up when she spills
unless it's the bottle of pills she takes
He met a girl who lived above him
he took her out they fell in love
they had some kids they settled down
they baught a house out of town
And he got a raise he baught a car
at six point seven APR
now he's got it made he's in the clear
his life's on lease for the next ten years or so
the next twenty years or so
the next forty years or so
Mother said he'd go real far
look at him now driving his new car

Miss Nöel
04:34
|
|||
She was raised by bother her parents
'til she turned 13
then Dad got sick and Mom got hooked
on Dad's amphetamines
She moved from house to house then bed to couch
then to the streets
and all she brought along with her were
bro-ken memories
She slept in tents and on park benches
sometimes in a car
and once or twice she found a nice warm bed
behind bars
She got by with handmade signs that read
"Anything helps"
and she found love a couple times
but they didn't pay that well
Now choirs are singing snow is falling
trees are filled with lights
it's a joyful spell for Miss Noel with
spirits by here side
La da da..

Where Does it Go?
03:10
|
|||
Once in a while I'll wake up with a smile on my face
I say once in a while I'll wake up with a smile on my face
Don't know how it gets there or how long it's gonna stay
Sometimes it leaves when I rise to my feet
sometimes it says 'til the next time I sleep
sometimes it's gone for a couple of days
sometimes weeks
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?
Where does it go?

Goodbye
03:44
|
|||
See you soon, so long, later, let's do this again
take care, aloha, cheers, I bid you adieu
adios, au revoir, auf wiedersehen, a riverderci
keep in touch, take it easy, until next time
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
The party is over it's time now to go back home
back to your shack, your pad, your humble abode
call a friend, call a cab, call Mom or Dad, just call it a night
and call when you get there to tell me you made it, alright?
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
It's been good to know you I'm sure gonna miss your smile
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

The End
03:57
|
|||
There's a spider in the hall
and he shakes when he runs from wall to wall
there's no door to let him out
but then again there's no door that let him in
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
All the crumbs he left behind
faded away and they left a trail of slime
there's no soap to wash this floor
but then again who ever said it had to shine?
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Now the walls are closing in
just look around everybody's got a grin
there's no hope to save him now
but then again who ever said this ever ends?
Will this ever end?
Will this ever end?
Will this ever...
